The SOLENT MALE VOICE CHOIR is available for all types of events, concerts, or festivals. We can sing in English and Welsh, in pubs, village halls, or private venues.
If you would like to organise a concert in which we feature or would like us as part of, or in support of a much larger event we can create a suitable programme.
We have a wide repertoire and can, with sufficient notice, create a programme specifically for your event.
The SMVC can sing for a "themed" concert. Whether for Christmas or a specific themed event. We can sing indoors or outdoors.
We don't mind joining with other choirs, singers or musicians to make a spectacular concert.
We are a very busy choir and our concert programme is planned many months in advance and so we would need as much notice as possible to accommodate your request. We may be able to sing, at a small event, with just part of the choir. If necessary we can bring our own keyboard. It will be necessary to visit the venue before the event.
FUND RAISING CONCERTS
SMVC are a charity and we understand that youmay need to raise funds. If you have never arranged a concert before do not worry, we would be happy to you give advice and help on budgets and ticket prices.
SMVC can help with designing and/or printing posters, advertising on the internet and even get the event listed on other web sites and social media.
We have a team that know all about organising and promoting successful concerts for Male Voice Choirs.
However we help we will not forget it is your concert, your event.
To sustain the Choir and its own charitable activities, SMVC does charge a fee to commissioning organisations. The Choir endeavours to minimise these fees for other charities, and for non-charitable events the fee is kept to a reasonable level. Our MD and accompanist are proessionals and must be paid.
BOOK EARLY FOR CHRISTMAS! - Please ask as soon as you can for us to sing at any event, and especially at Christmas time. The two weeks just before Christmas get booked very early.
We are based in Havant, near Portsmouth. Whist we don't mind travelling it might be more convenient of you tried to book a more "local" MVC. There is the Reading Male Voice Choir, the Hampshire & Surrey Hills MVC, the Basingstoke MVC, The Romsey MVC and the Hampshire Police MVC all locatable on Google.
